When I was young, our village always cooked “Pancit”, “Sopas” and Filipino style Spaghetti. While most kids stood on long queues just to have the famous spaghetti, I was going back and forth until there’s still soup left inside the big casserole.

I will always love Sopas wether it’s a hot or cold weather. It’s simple and so easy to make! As soon as you know the basic ingredients you can make any soup you want.

Today, you are lucky because I am going to teach you the 4 EASY STEPS in making a healthy and delicious soup. After this, you’re good to go!!Ready?
(You can add your own desired ingredients)

I am going to name this one “Chimpkin Soup”. I guess you already know why.

Chicken(Your choice of meat),
Butter, Turkey Ham (your choice of Ham or Sausage),

Milk, Garlic, Onion, Bay Leaf/Parsley, Salt and Pepper

Add-ons (Any of these):

Pumpkin, Cabbage, Potato, Sweet Potato, Tomato, Carrots, Beans, Pasta Shells (you can add other vegetables you like)

STEP 1. Grab the deep pan or casserole to boil the chicken(your choice of meat) together with one bay leaf and let it boil while you are preparing other ingredients.

(It should be ready once you’re finished preparing, if not wait until the chicken is soft)

STEP 2. Take the chicken out of the water (broth)to chop into smaller pieces (you can keep the bones for a tastier soup). Transfer the broth in another container so you can use the same pan to saute’ the meat and other vegetables with onion and a little but of garlic.  (make sure your pan is big enough).

STEP 3. Heat the pan before putting the slice of butter then wait until it melts before putting the garlic and onion. Once both almost looked golden, you can put the chicken(meat) and the turkey ham(sausage or your choice of ham).

(Keep sautéing for 2minutes before adding all your choice of vegetables.)

STEP 4. Pour the chicken broth before it gets dry then wait for 5minutes before pouring the milk. Since I used turkey ham which is already a little bit salty, I only added a little bit of salt, bay leaf and more pepper because I love pepper! 

(Let it boil until all the vegetables are ready then garnish it it with parsley as it simmer.)
